how the general wellness panel works at home.

1. Choose the right tests

Your provider reviews your health history, symptoms and goals, then explains what the general wellness panel checks and whether it fits you.

2. Prepare

You are told whether to fast and which supplements or medicines to pause before the draw. Fasting for 8 to 12 hours is sometimes advised for the cholesterol part.

3. Blood draw at home

Your provider draws blood at your home, labels it and sends it to the lab. Most draws take only a few minutes.

4. Results visit

When results are back, your provider walks you through each number, what it means and what, if anything, to do next.

the general wellness panel safety and monitoring.

What the panel covers

A metabolic panel checks blood sugar, kidney and liver function and electrolytes. A1c shows average blood sugar over about three months. A CBC looks at red cells, white cells and platelets, and a lipid panel measures cholesterol.

Blood draw risks

A small bruise or brief soreness is common. Fainting is uncommon; tell your provider if you have fainted during a draw before so you can lie down.

What it cannot do

A normal panel does not rule out every illness. It is a broad screen, and your provider will tell you if your history calls for other tests.

Fasting in the heat

If you need to fast, you can still drink plain water, and in Las Vegas you should. Dehydration can make veins harder to find and can nudge some results, such as kidney markers and blood counts, out of range.

Early draws on Pacific time

Visits can start as early as 6 am Las Vegas time, so you can fast overnight and eat soon after your draw.

Results you can act on

If something needs follow-up, your provider explains next steps and can refer you to a local specialist.
